Worship Leaders serving as Layreaders and Chalice Bearers play an important role in Sunday worship. As layreaders they read the lessons, lead the Psalm, and offer the prayers of the people. As chalice bearers they assist the priest in administering Holy Eucharist. Chalice bearers are licensed by the diocese for a period of 3 years.
Ushers provide a welcome to persons attending our 10:00 a.m. service. They greet worshipers as they enter the church, carry forth the elements for Holy Eucharist, collect the congregational offering, and ensure the sanctuary is tidy following service.
Acolytes are young people who play an important role in the church service. Acolytes are involved in the Processional, the Offertory, the Holy Eucharist, and Recessional. Our youth who are 13 years and older are encouraged to become acolytes.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers visit parishioners who are unable to attend worship services. They are authorized to take consecrated elements to members of the congregation who due to illness or infirmity are unable to be present at the celebration of Holy Eucharist.
